Conduit Connect becomes official signatory of Investing in Women Code

Striving to represent female founders and promote equality and diversity in venture capital.

Conduit Connect has committed to the Investing in Women Code to support the advancement of female entrepreneurship in the UK.

The initial struggle to raise capital is a story familiar for many female founders. Although 2021 was the most successful year to date for VC funding in female-founded businesses, there is still much work to be done to level the playing field.

The Investing in Women Code recognises there is valuable work underway by individual organisations to help women who are seeking to start or scale-up their business.

Our Managing Partner, Eva-Maria Dimitriadis shares her thoughts on Conduit Connect becoming an official signatory:
“VCs and angel networks have a responsibility to drive greater accountability and equality in the investment world. As a signatory of the Investing in Women Code, we are committing to a culture of inclusion and to advance access to capital for female entrepreneurs.

We are proud to have a diverse team and believe this plays a critical part in attracting top entrepreneurs from all backgrounds. To date we have supported some incredible female founders working across the fields of FemTech, BioTech, AgriTech and educational gaming. Our mission is to drive catalytic capital to solving some of the world’s greatest challenges, and to find the best people addressing these issues regardless of their gender, upbringing or ethnicity.”

Gabby Morgan, Investment Manager added:
“I’m extremely proud to be part of a company that has championed women in entrepreneurship and venture capital from inception, as evidenced by our own leadership and hiring practices and in our diligence process. In an industry that continues to be male dominated, increasing representation on investment committees and in founding teams is more important than ever. Becoming a signatory of the code reaffirms our commitment to investing in women and holding ourselves and the industry to account.”
